We are all on this earth for a purpose. We each have talents and skills that we have been given. These talents shouldn’t be squandered or wasted. We are told in the Bible that we will loose our talents if we don’t use them. We are continuously told that practice makes perfect. That practice also applies to our talents.
We aren’t born being perfect at any talent. We need to actively use that talent in order to perfect it.
I am a firm believer that our talents haven’t been given to us to only be self-serving. It is our responsibility to see how we can use these talents to help others. Our talents are to be used to improve the world around us.
This improvement can only be done if we take action.
Have you taken the time to discover your talents? If not, now is the time to do it. Nothing like the present.
Take out a piece of paper and brainstorm everything that makes you happy. Often the things that bring us the most happiness are our talents. What do you do that can help someone else and/or bring them joy?
We are often inspired to do things to help others and we don’t do them because we are afraid. Afraid of rejection, ridicule, that others will find us silly, that it really can’t be that important, etc. Don’t let any of these things stop you from helping someone else.
The seemingly little things are often the ones that mean the most.
I feel so passionate about this because of how many times someone else has used their talents to help me and/or my family. Most recently, I have been inspired by the words spoken to me by others. They could have so easily kept them to themselves, fearing how I would take them or that they really were silly. How wonderful that they didn’t! I only hope that I can help others even a fraction of how I have been helped in this life.
